Both of his parents also born in Rhenish Prussia. He was alive at the time of the Jan 1920 census. Block 1, Section M, Lot 43-S, Grave 5 In 1866, at the age of 27, Peter immigrated to the US , along with hisolder brother Frank, and his younger brother Nicholas. They sailedfrom Bremen, Germany on the steamship named the Steamer Bremen andarrived in New York on March 28, 1866. Germany was listed as theircountry of origin and all three men listed their occupations as Mech.Peter was naturalized in 1868. Three years after arriving in the US, he married 20 year old BarbaraSchwendel. In 1870 we was living in Wauwatosa with wife Barbara andhis brother Franz (Frank). Both men were employed as laborers. Theywere living next door to their step-brother Peter Schoenborn who had awife and five children by that time. By 1880 Peter and Barbara had 5 children. They were still living inWauwatosa. Peter's brother Frank was still living with them and bothmen were working in a dairy.

The1900 federal census showed he owned a house with a mortgage andalso owned a farm. (Under the column "Number of Farm Schedule" therewas a 5 entered. At the time of the 10 April, 1910 US census Peter andhis wife Barbara, were living at 466 Hopkins Road in North MilwaukeeVillage. The home was owned but still had a mortgage. Peter age 71 atthe time, listed his occupation as Gardener. Living at home at thetime were their children Joseph age 30, Nicolaus F. age 21, andChristopher H. age 15. In the 1920 census his home was at 461 41st Street in North Milwaukee.He owned the home, but still had a mortgage. In addition to his wife,son Christopher and daughter Theresa, there were also two young girls,Lillian and Evelyn Bauhof, ages 6 and 4, living with them at the time. The girls were listed as boarders. Both of their parents were born inGermany, but the girls were born in Wisconsin.

Peter died on 28 September 1924, at the age of 84 (His burial recordlists his age as 85)
