He was about 10 when Jeanette Durand was about 6. Ref Evelyn: John died 6 weeks after Jeanette Durand Block 5, Row 525 Johnny was born November 1880 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. Some timelater, the family moved to Milwaukee. He made his first Holy Communion at the age of 13 on 14 May 1893 atSt. Michaels Catholic Church in Milwaukee. At about that time hechose Jeanette Durand from the Orphan Train to be his adopted sister. In 1896, when he was sixteen, his father died. Two years later hismother remarried. In the 1900 census, John Boehm (born Nov 1880) andJannette Boehm (born Sep 1889 in Wisc) were listed as living on 22ndStreet in the City of Milwaukee with Jacob and Mary Roesch and Jacob's4 children . They were both listed as step-children of Jacob, implyingthat their mother was Mary Boehm. Johnny, who was then twenty yearsold, was employed as an office clerk.

On 25 January 1905, at the age of twenty-five, Johnny marriedseventeen year old Eleonor Sebald at St. Michaels Parish. His adoptedsister Jeanette (Durand) Boehm signed the marriage record as one ofthree witnesses. The other two witnesses were Peter R. Justru and JohnP. Bertram. His middle name Wenceslaus appears in his marriage record. In June of that year Eleonor gave birth to a boy whom they namedTheodore George (Ted).

In the 1905 Milwaukee census, taken just 4 days before the birth oftheir son Ted, John was listed as married to Eleanor (Sebald). Theywere living next door to his mother Mary (Wamser) Roesch and adoptedsister, Jenny who was listed as Jeanette Boehm. At that time John wasemployed as a bookkeeper.

According to Evelyn Bonerz, He died at the age of 38, shortly afterthe death of his adopted sister, Jenny. This is apparently in errorsince his cemetery burial record lists his date of death as 9 October1918, a little more than a month before Jenny's death. It is possible that he was also a victim of the Great Flu Epidemicthat took the life of Jenny. He was survived by his wife and fourchildren, Ted, Alice, George and Marion. Four years later, his widowedwife Eleanor (nee Sebald) married Jenny's widowed husband, AnthonyBonerz.

John is buried in the Calvary Cemetery in the same plot with hismother and his wife Elinor Sebald. The cemetery record lists Elinor'sname as Ella E. Bonerz.
